Rosetta Stone Offers beginner, intermediate and advanced levels of Spanish Learning or a combined package of all levels for a reduced price.
These CD-ROM packages are more expensive than Rocket Spanish, but provide in-depth & comprehensive lessons that include listening, reading, speaking, writing, tests & tutorials. Each spanish lesson provides exercises and tests so you are able to keep track of your progress and there is 250-300 hours worth of spanish lessons for each level. This is a good product for anyone wanting to learn Spanish; however it has quite a few drawbacks.
First and foremost, even into the third level- the material is not very challenging. Second, even though the directions, the text and audio are given in Spanish, and all of the voice narratives are in Spanish, the student is never really “immersed” in Spanish.
The Spanish dialouge is always in sets of maximum three sentences even at the most advanced levels which does not simulate true conversation and does not immerse you in Spanish quite as much as some other programs.
The Good
• Teaches spanish using all major learning methods listening, reading, speaking, writing
• Helps you keep track of your progress
The Bad
• Material doesnt challenge you very well
• Spanish lessons are never more than three sentences deep
Learn Spanish Like Crazy is an audio based teaching course for beginners to an intermediate level.
